Hello All

We were all pleased to see each other once more at the Holiday Inn Doncaster yesterday.
The atmosphere was delightful and convivial. Many memories were extolled by all in a small and personal way. Particular memories was placed on the events of May 1960 at Tamparuli Bridge, when two of our number were drowned along with a local woman. A local writer that I am in touch with, is writing about this tragic event in a book to be published later this year or early next year. John Roberts is also producing in the written word a work on Borneo. A tape recording was made for posterity and eventually a CD will be produced for all participants. As normal a group photograph was taken a copy of which is attached.
We enjoyed, morning coffe, a pint at the bar before enjoying a wonderful 4 course Sunday lunch all at a dicounted cost of just £15.00 for the day.
An agreed date for our next reunion was set for the 30 September 2012 at the same venue commencing at 09:00, please record in your diaries now.
We were all aware that we are getting older, the general view of those that attended was that the 'Old Lags' (1958-1964) should continue to meet up on a bi-annual basis.
For those who unfortunately were unable to attend this year, please note the time and date of the next meeting and try to attend, we really want to see you again.
